Congress Funds New NGA Facility in North Saint Louis

Washington, D.C. – Today Congresswoman Ann Wagner (MO-02) released the below statement following passage of the Energy and Water, Legislative Branch, and Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act.

“Congress continues to get our work done for the American people,” said Congresswoman Wagner. “Today’s appropriations package takes care of our nation’s veterans, strengthens national security, bolsters U.S. energy and infrastructure, and makes the government more accountable, effective, and fiscally responsible. It also funds the ongoing construction of the new NGA campus in North St. Louis, bringing jobs to our region for years to come.”



Funding the new NGA facility

  • Allocates $181 million for Phase I construction and $110 million for Phase II construction of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) campus in North St. Louis. When the agency announced it was rebuilding the facility and weighing new locations, Congresswoman Wagner fought hard to keep the NGA facility in our community.

Taking care of our nation’s veterans

  • Provides the highest dollar amount for the VA in history
  • Funds the VA MISSION Act, including ongoing care, within existing spending caps

Strengthening national security

  • Boosts funding for military construction above FY18 levels to rebuild our military
  • Maintains the strongest possible nuclear deterrence posture
  • Address security issues at the U.S. Capitol

Bolstering U.S. energy and infrastructure

  • Provides $2 billion for flood and storm damage reduction activities that will improve public health and safety in our communities
  • Provides a much-needed influx of funds into our nation’s water resources infrastructure via the Army Corps of Engineers

Making the government more accountable, effective, and fiscally responsible

  • Maintains 10% spending cut for Congress and Member pay freeze in place since FY10
  • Improves management at the VA, speeds up claims processing, and supports the VA IG
