Wagner Applauds Passage of 2019 NDAA, Additional Funding for Super Hornets, NGA Facilities, & Other Top National Security Priorities
WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Ann Wagner (MO-02) released the following statement on House passage of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 (NDAA):
"Today, I voted to make Americans safer, our military stronger, and to give our troops the support they deserve. The 2019 NDAA not only puts our safety and troops first, but it continues to boost the local St. Louis economy. In addition to giving our troops a pay raise, this national security package funds the ongoing construction of the new NGA campus in North St. Louis and 24 additional F/A-18E/F Super Hornets requested by the U.S. Navy—which will be built locally and sustain over 5,000 jobs in our community."
2019 NDAA KEY TAKEAWAYS FOR THE ST. LOUIS REGION
- Provides the funding necessary to continue planned construction of the new National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) West Complex in North St. Louis. When the agency announced it was rebuilding the facility and weighing new locations, Congresswoman Wagner fought hard to keep the NGA facility in our community.
- Authorizes $1.97 billion for a multi-year plan to procure 24 Super Hornets, securing over 5,000 local jobs and keeping the St. Louis's F/A-18 production line running well into the 2020s.
