Press Release
Will Also Serve as Top Republican on Newly Created Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee

WASHINGTON - Congresswoman Ann Wagner (MO-2) released the following statement after the Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Committee Patrick McHenry (NC-10) named her the Vice Ranking Member of the full House Financial Services Committee.  In addition, Congresswoman Wagner will also serve as lead Republican on the Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion.

“I am honored and humbled that Congressman McHenry has asked me to serve as his Vice Ranking Member. Whether it is working to reduce regulatory burdens, lowering the cost of doing business, performing oversight of federal agencies, protecting the rights of shareholders, or increasing transparency in our capital markets, I know our Committee will meet the needs of Missouri's 2nd District, and our nation.

“As Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion, I will be uniquely situated to prioritize suburban issues as we revive the Suburban Caucus after a decade of inactivity.  I will be able to use this platform to promote issues that matter to everyday Americans and will make life better for families in suburban America.  Issues like paid family leave, flexible work schedules and flexible spending accounts hit home for families and allow for greater prosperity and opportunity.

"Having previously served at the leadership table of the Financial Services Committee, I understand what needs to get done to help families save their hard-earned dollars and invest them into a better future for their children and a safe retirement for themselves.  Ranking Member McHenry and I are committed to protecting investors, consumers, and markets when the new Democratic majority overreaches.” said Vice Ranking Member Wagner (MO-02).

“As Vice Ranking Member of the Financial Services Committee and the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion, Congresswoman Wagner will play a critical role in advancing our objectives and reaching commonsense solutions for the good of the American taxpayer,” said Ranking Member Patrick McHenry (NC-10). “I look forward to working alongside her, and all of our subcommittee ranking members, who each provide unique and thoughtful insight as we work to ensure the strength and stability of the U.S. financial system.”
