Rep. Wagner will also serve on the Asia, the Pacific and Nonproliferation and Europe, Eurasia, Energy and Environment subcommittees in the 116th Congress.

“I am excited to take on this challenge as Vice Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and apply my foreign policy experience to strengthen partnerships and alliances, advance the U.S.-led international order, and confront adversaries when necessary,” said Vice Ranking Member Ann Wagner. “American leadership has helped populations across the globe enjoy safer, more stable, and more prosperous lives, and I believe U.S. engagement is critical to creating a better world for the next generation.

“As Vice Ranking Member, I will continue to advocate for fundamental human rights, and use this opportunity step up our fight against human trafficking, an injustice that has enslaved over 40 million innocent people worldwide,” continued Vice Ranking Member Wagner. “I thank Congressman McCaul for his support in naming me Vice Ranking Member and look forward to working closely with him, Chairman Eliot Engel, and Committee leadership to pass legislation that empowers Americans and our allies.”

“As a former Ambassador, Congresswoman Wagner’s experience as a diplomat will be a major asset for our Committee. Her commitment to public service and her dedication to American leadership on the world stage will make her an important player on our team,” said Lead Republican Michael McCaul (R-TX-10). “I look forward to working alongside Congresswoman Wagner in her role as Vice Ranking Member on our Committee as we navigate many of the international challenges confronting the United States.”
