Wagner Statement on National Defense Authorization Act
Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO) released the following statement on the FY2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Report.
“I am extremely pleased that paid parental leave is included in the FY2020 NDAA. This is an important step forward in our ongoing fight to ensure that all Americans have access to paid parental leave, and I will work with my colleagues to make this critical benefit a reality for new families nationwide.
“The NDAA also includes the largest pay increase for our military in a decade and provides the necessary resources to modernize our defense systems and advance technologies that will keep our military the strongest in the world. It would also fund 24 Super Hornets that will be built locally and sustain over 5,000 jobs in our community. It is important to note that this agreement does not prohibit funding for the border wall that is vital to preventing drug smugglers and human traffickers from entering our country. This legislation strengthens America’s national security and military readiness and keeps our citizens safe, both at home and abroad.”
