Wagner Statement on Senate Passage of the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act

Mar 14, 2018
Press Release

WASHINGTON - Congresswoman Ann Wagner (MO-02) released the following statement after United States Senate passage of S. 2155, the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act:

“After eight years, the U.S. Senate has finally passed legislation that will bring much-needed relief to the community financial institutions that were unfairly targeted during the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis.  The overly-broad Dodd-Frank regulations cost Americans jobs, hurt consumer access to financial products like home and small business loans, and slowed economic growth. The Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act will right many of the wrongs imposed under the Dodd-Frank Act. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the House to further strengthen this bill and provide consumers access to affordable financial products.”
