Wagner Statement on Senator Roy Blunt
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO) released the following statement:
"Today all Missourians celebrate the career of Roy Blunt. While today’s announcement is the end of an era, I look forward to working with him in service to Missouri during the remainder of his term and know that he will do his utmost for our great state.
"Representing your hometown in public service is both humbling and inspiring at the same time. While the Second District is home, I have been proud to work throughout Missouri prior to my time in public service and am humbled by the outpouring of encouragement from folks across our great state today. I take their outreach seriously, and plan to discuss with my family what the future holds for me in the coming days.
"Stopping the liberal agenda in Washington is vitally important for the future of our nation. There are too many important things to fight for today – our shared conservative principles, protecting innocent life, stopping the assault on our personal freedoms, and standing up to the Biden Administration’s liberal agenda – not to take a stand for what is right.
"I congratulate Roy and Abby and the entire Blunt family on his announcement today, wish them luck for their next steps, and look forward to serving with Senator Blunt in Congress for the remainder of his term."
