Wagner Statement on State of the Union

Feb 4, 2020
Press Release

Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO), Chair of the Suburban Caucus, released the following statement on President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address:

“The President’s speech tonight detailed the incredible accomplishments America has achieved in the last year. Our middle class is booming and the unemployment rate is as low as it’s been in half a century. Seven million jobs have been created under his leadership, and in Missouri, real median household income is up eight percent. The economy continues to grow, lifting up working families and creating greater opportunities for the next generation.

“President Trump has said he would get to work for America, and tonight he told us all how he has kept that promise. He has made it a priority to lower prescription drug costs, secure our border, and combat human trafficking. I will continue to work with him for our suburban families to advance critical initiatives such as passing paid parental leave legislation, addressing the skyrocketing costs of childcare, and ensure our national security remains strong.”
