Wagner Votes in Support of FY21 National Defense Authorization Act
Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO) released the following statement after the House passed the FY21 National Defense Authorization Act.
"This bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) provides the resources our military needs to effectively defend our nation and keep us safe. I worked with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to pass several bipartisan amendments to this important legislation, including my House-passed Southeast Asia Strategy Act, which will counter China's aggression and promote U.S. trade with the region. It is our duty to push back on China's increasingly reckless behavior, especially in light of their willful suppression of information that led to the deadly pandemic at hand. This legislation advances that purpose and guards against China’s belligerence.
"I am extremely pleased that we were able to include funding for Super Hornets that will be built right here in St. Louis and support thousands of jobs locally. The NDAA also provides our troops and their families with pay raises they deserve and bolsters our national security at a time when our nation must be strong. Additionally, I co-led six bipartisan amendments that promote global health security, the prosperity and wellbeing of women and children, and international human rights.”
