Press Release

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO-02) welcomes Navy Lieutenant Michael Martin as her guest to President Trump’s first State of the Union Address. LT Martin was selected after submitting his name into a drawing held by our office for the chance to attend the State of the Union.

“It is an honor to welcome LT Martin, a St. Louis resident and U.S. Navy submarine officer, as my guest to President Trump’s first State of the Union,” said Congresswoman Wagner. “As the mother of an active duty Army Ranger Captain, I see firsthand the sacrifices that the brave men and women of our military make for our freedom. I’m inviting LT Martin on behalf of all those from the Second District of Missouri who have served in our Armed Forces. We are forever indebted to them for their service and commitment to our country.”

LT Michael Martin is from St Louis, Missouri, and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2011.  He was a recipient of the Admiral Frank Bowman Scholarship and in 2012 graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School.
