Rep. Wagner Statement on DOL Fiduciary Rule
Congresswoman Ann Wagner released the following statement on absence of a DOL-Fiduciary legislative rider in the Omnibus Spending bill:
"I am disappointed that the White House chose politics over protecting low and middle-income investors during this time of economic uncertainty. The President continues to ignore over 100 Democrats in Congress who have expressed concerns with the Department of Labor's proposed rule. Instead, this President has decided to stand with big government liberals like Sen. Elizabeth Warren. As a result, the ability of low and middle-income Americans to receive affordable financial advice for their retirement is now in jeopardy. The House has already passed the Retail Investor Protection Act twice, in bi-partisan fashion. It is now more important than ever that the Senate act immediately and take up this important piece of legislation. I will continue this fight until the rule is delayed, dismantled and defeated."
