Internship Opportunities
An internship in my office provides a great opportunity for students to learn first-hand how our government works. Interns gain valuable knowledge and experience by having hands-on opportunity to learn about the legislative process, as well as the operations of a Congressional office.
Congressional App Challenge
The App Challenge is a national competition highlighting the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education. Established by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2015, the Congressional App Challenge allows students from across the country to compete by creating and exhibiting their software application, or “app,” for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.
Congressional Art Competition
Each spring, Members of the United States House of Representatives sponsor the Congressional Art Competition. This competition is an opportunity to recognize the artistic talent of students in Missouri’s 2nd District and throughout the nation. The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for Members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their young constituents.
United States Service Academies
I am honored to hear from young people seeking a nomination to one of the United States Service Academies. As the mother of a United States Military Academy graduate, the privilege of nominating outstanding candidates to each of the academies is a responsibility I take very seriously.
