Rep. Wagner Statement on Senate Filibuster of the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Ann Wagner released the following statement on the U.S. Senate filibuster of the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act:
"Today Senator McCaskill had a simple choice: join those who want to spend taxpayer dollars on abortions or help fight to protect vulnerable women and children from sex trafficking. In voting five times to block the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, Senator McCaskill has acted in opposition to the 67% of Americans who believe it's wrong to spend taxpayer dollars on abortions. I cannot overstate the importance of this legislation to the hundreds of thousands of Americans who are at risk of falling victim to sex trafficking this year alone. Once again I urge her to change her stance and help us combat this heinous crime."
