Wagner Appointed to House-Knesset Parliamentary Group

Washington, D.C.  – Today, Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO), Vice Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and Co-Chair of the House Abraham Accords Caucus, released the following statement after Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy appointed her to the House-Knesset Parliamentary Group. 

“I am deeply humbled and honored to be a part of this historic, bipartisan delegation that will further strengthen the special bond between the United States and Israel,” said Vice Chair Wagner. “Through my position on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and as co-chair of the House Abraham Accords Caucus, I look forward to working with members of the Knesset to build upon the recent successes in normalizing relations between Israel and Arab states. I have been proud to pass legislation this Congress honoring the 75th anniversary of U.S.-Israel relations, and through this collaborative body, I will strive to foster new pathways for peace and prosperity in the Middle East.” 

Background

In May 2023, Speaker McCarthy and Speaker of the Knesset Amir Ohana signed a joint pledge to establish a collaborative group between the U.S. House of Representatives and the Israeli Knesset to memorialize and strengthen the special relationship between the two countries. Members of these legislative bodies will be able to personally engage with each other through visits to the United States and Israel.
