Wagner Named Vice Ranking Member of House Foreign Affairs Committee
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO) released the following statement after she was named Vice Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee:
"I am thrilled to announce that I will again have the honor of advancing U.S. interests abroad as Vice Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The United States faces unprecedented challenges from adversaries like Russia, China, and Iran—states that are bent on eroding respect for fundamental human rights and undermining democracies around the world. I firmly believe that robust U.S. leadership remains a force for good in the world and I am committed to safeguarding our critical relationships with partners and allies, promoting effective and efficient development assistance, and countering our enemies as they seek to extend their malign influence.
"I have long decried the persecution of the Rohingya in Burma and the Uyghurs in China. I will continue to advance U.S. efforts to end these genocides as a member of the Asia, Pacific, Central Asia, and Nonproliferation Subcommittee. As part of the Europe, Energy, Environment, and Cyber Subcommittee, I plan to continue combatting Russia's disinformation and influence operations, and promoting stronger, more equitable ties between the United States and our NATO allies."
