Wagner Statement on the Death of Ayatollah Khamenei
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO) released the following statement on the death of Ayatollah Khamenei:
“Ayatollah Khamenei commanded a regime of terror that killed countless innocents and tore families apart around the globe. The Israeli strikes eliminating the Ayatollah and much of his senior leadership brings this brutal reign of persecution to a definitive and necessary end. The people of Iran can now choose their own destiny.
“As co-chair of the Abraham Accords Caucus, I have worked with my colleagues in Congress and our counterparts in the Middle East to promote regional stability, cooperation, and mutual defense against the persistent and growing Iranian threat. It has been incredible to see Israel and its Arab neighbors come together as a united force to counter Iranian attacks and support the next chapter of regional security, free from the Ayatollah's terrorism.
“I look forward to continuing the important, bipartisan work of cementing, strengthening, and expanding the Abraham Accords to achieve a lasting peace.”
