Wagner Votes to Create Benghazi Select Committee
Washington, DC - Congresswoman Ann Wagner (MO-2) released the following statement after voting in favor to create a new select committee to investigate the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya that killed four Americans:
"For nearly two years, the American people have been misled, deceived and stonewalled from knowing the truth after the Benghazi terrorist attacks. And for nearly two years, the Administration has corroded the trust of the public by withholding documents and refusing to cooperate with the ensuing investigations by Congress. We are left with more questions than answers. Our system of government depends on transparency and trust. The Benghazi Select Committee aims to restore trust in government by seeking the facts surrounding the attacks in Benghazi in a bipartisan and respectful manner. This investigation will and must always be about honoring the lives of our four fallen heroes, and making sure that justice is served."
