Wagner Receives Homeland Security Investigations Award for Protecting Children from Human Trafficking
Rep. Wagner also spoke during today’s Homeland Security Investigations Human Trafficking Symposium
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Ann Wagner (R-MO), released the following statement after today’s Homeland Security Investigations Human Trafficking Symposium:
“It was an honor to speak at the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Human Trafficking Symposium and kick off a day of training to help law enforcement, private and public sector partners, advocates, and so many others in our ongoing fight against human trafficking. There are too many victims being taken advantage of in our communities, and it is critical we all have the tools we need to identify human trafficking wherever it may occur and bring perpetrators to justice.
"Thank you to Acting Special Agent in Charge Taekuk Cho for presenting me an award recognizing my work to fight for victims of trafficking. It is incumbent upon us to do all we can to prevent the sexual exploitation of some of the most vulnerable in our world, especially the innocent children who cannot protect themselves.
"This is an all hands on deck fight, and I look forward to working with HSI and our other law enforcement partners to protect victims from the horrors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.”
