Ann Wagner is working quickly to make a mark in Congress

In less than a week, our country faces severe across-the-board spending cuts known in Washington as the “sequester.”
In 2011, President Obama devised sequestration to impose $1.2 trillion in arbitrary, across-the-board spending cuts between defense and non-defense spending over the next 10 years. If the president’s sequester cannot be replaced, this will negatively impact both our national and domestic security.

I still remember working alongside my parents in the family-owned carpet store in Manchester called “Carpetime.” There, they taught me that if you worked hard and lived within your means, the American Dream was at your fingertips. That dream can still be possible for our kids and grandkids, but not if we continue down the path of spending trillions of dollars that we do not have.
The One Hundred Thirteenth United States Congress is the next meeting of the legislative branch of the United States federal government, composed of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. It is scheduled to meet in Washington, D.C. from January 3, 2013 to January 3, 2015.
The 113th United States Congress will begin on January 3, 2013. There are at least 12 new senators (3R, 8D, 1I) and 67 new representatives (29R, 38D).
