The bill provides six months of premium assistance so workers who have been laid off are not forced to lose or pay more for their health insurance. Additionally, the bill creates a 30-day special enrollment period on the ACA exchanges for individuals who are eligible for coverage but are not enrolled.

The funds will be disbursed through Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) and will formally be awarded on April 2nd.
